Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse

For a tongue-in-cheek take on emergency preparedness, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has posted advice on how to prepare for a zombie apocalypse. While the prospect of the living dead roaming the streets in search of brains may seem one better suited to fiction, the guidelines the CDC offers -- keep an emergency preparedness kit, have an emergency plan prepared -- are ones that can help in more typical emergency situations, such as a natural disaster. The page also details how the CDC would respond to a zombie apocalypse; that is, pretty much the same way that it would respond to any infectious disease pandemic. The page is a neat reminder to always be prepared for the unexpected!
