Goochland Branch Library
Dr. Seuss's Birthday Party
Saturday March 7 from 10:00 a.m. to noon
Celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday with stories read by special guest readers, crafts, games, and more!
This year's theme is based on Dr. Seuss's "The Lorax." Kids are invited to do the following during the program:
  • Plant a Peat Pot
  • Play catch with a Truffala Seed
  • Make and take your own Truffala Tree
  • Make a bookmark to share with someone else

Mechanicsville Branch Library
Dr. Seuss's Movie Morning
Saturday March 7 at 10:30 a.m.
Celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday with a popular movie based on one of his books.
Refreshments served. Sponsored by the Friends of the Mechanicsville Library.

Atlee Branch Library
Cradle of America: Four Centuries of Virginia History
with noted historian, Peter Wallenstein
Saturday March 7 at 2:00 p.m.
A presentation by Mr. Wallenstein, a professor of history at Virginia Tech, on Virginia's 400-year-old relationship with America - from the colonial beginnings to the most recent presidential election - will be followed by a Q&A session and book signing.
Copies of Wallenstein's book will be available for purchase.

The 7th Annual PRL Poetry Contest
March 2 - 28, 2009
Enter the library’s poetry contest for all ages (Grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and Adult).
Pick up your entry form beginning Monday March 2.
Entries are must be returned by or before Saturday March 28.
Prizes will be awarded during our library poetry celebrations in April.
